It's Up To You

All right. All of you who claim to read this blog, and hassle me when there's nothing new to read, you not only get to hear about what's going on in my life, but now get to make a decision in it.

For years I've struggled with the Christmas card/letter thing. It's strange when you're a single adult. I love the idea of sending a Christmas greeting. I have friends and family all over the place, so it's a good way to share and catch up. Plus, let's face it, if you send a Christmas greeting, you get them sent to you. And I have a little competition with myself to cover as much of my fridge as possible with Christmas cards and pictures (Shameless solicitation: If you're reading this, that means we know each other well enough to warrant you sending me your Christmas card. Remember, if you send it to me, it goes on my fridge, and if you're on my fridge, I pray for you whenever I open it - which is often). And while I enjoy Christmas letters, I enjoy them a LOT more when they are accompanied by a picture (which can hang on my fridge. Did I mention that I pray for the people on my fridge?). So if I like it when I receive pictures, I assume that's true of other as well. But it's too weird to send a picture of just me. Ick. Weird. I don't like it. I won't do it. So, a couple years ago, I resolved to write a Christmas letter that highlighted the highlight-able events of the year that included photos from the events. These photos also had other people in them, but the accompanying letter explained who they were.
To be completely honest, I don't have the ambition to write the Christmas letter this year. Maybe last year's just took too much creativity and I haven't been able to replenish that renewable resource. Then I had this great idea. They now make so many Christmas photo cards, and many of them allow for multiple pictures, which means I could include a few pictures from different events through the year with different people. But I can't decide if it's weird to send people a card, that I assume will be hung somewhere, that will, most likely, include pictures of me and other people they do not know.

So.... this is where you come in. You decide how I do my Christmas greeting this year. Would you like a letter with assorted pictures in it (that will probably be on the less than creative side)? Would you like a photo card with multiple pictures of me (that's weird too, I think) and other unknown people.
Whatever the majority response to this post is makes the decision. Big responsibility, I know. But I have faith in you.

I LOVED the Christmas letter/yearly recap that you sent out last year. And that's not even an option for this year? Oh come on! Plllllllllleeeeeease!! While typically I make fun of people who send out "Christmas newsletters" I totally enjoyed your's and even kept it. Don't you want to look back years from now and see a recap in one letter?? I want the newsletter WITH pictures. The great and powerful Aunt Cheri has spoken!
