I know what you're thinking - she begins training for the May triathlon in October??!! And, no, I don't. But I got an email from Missy Taylor today and she and her soon-to-be sister-in-law are running a Turkey Trot 5K race on Thanksgiving morning. And now, I am too. I'm too old to sleep in on Thanksgiving anymore, so if I'm up, and I'm going to eat an obscene amount of food a few hours later, I might was well run 3 1/2 miles that morning.
I haven't run that distance since the triathlon last spring. And when I have run 2 or 3 miles, it has been at an incredibly slow pace. I have 5 weeks to build up the endurance and re-teach myself how to run that distance at a much faster pace. I haven't done a 5K since college.
As always, I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Good luck! I'd rather keep to my 5K of stuffing my face! No "running" blood in this girl! Feel free to feel like you're doing it for me too!
